Academic Excellence
Connecticut Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Hartford administer the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.
In the Spring of 2008, students in the Archdiocesan Catholic Schools scored in the top 25% of students tested nationally.
Third-graders in our Catholic Schools scored in the 83rd percentile, meaning that they scored as well or better than 83% of the national norm group used to develop the test.
This record of academic success continues as our students enter secondary school. Our high schools typically have graduation rates of 100 %. In addition, an outstanding 100% of our graduates pursue further education/training. And last year, 1162 of our college-bound seniors took the SAT Reasoning Test. They scored above both the state and national averages – especially in critical reading and writing, where Connecticut Catholic School students in the Archdiocese of Hartford exceeded national scores by 25 SAT points.
Advanced Placement tests are routinely offered in math, literature, world language, history, psychology, science, art, and music.
If you’re interested in placing your child in an environment where academic success is both expected and supported, then have a conversation with a school administrator at a Catholic School near you.
